The Life of Dov en Olga Bikas

In a cafe between dilapidated buildings and modern office towers in southern Tel Aviv, I first met Dov Bikas. He was wearing a sky-blue T-shirt and a royal blue cap.
He offered me coffee and cake, and we started talking. The coffee grinder made such a noise that it was sometimes difficult to understand what he said. Still,

I tried to catch every word because it was a remarkable story about a life with highs and lows that bore rich fruit. After that first time, I spoke with him dozens of times in Tel Aviv’s Aviv Center, in the shelters in Beersheba, and often on Friday afternoons, just before the Sabbath began, via video links.

His story is a powerful testimony of somebody who continued to work for the Lord and did not give up.
