The Bible teaches that we are motivated by God’s love for us.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse shows us that God’s love is the ultimate motivation for us. Christ’s death on the cross was motivated by love, and our response to that love should be motivated by love as well.

1 John 4:19 says,

“We love because he first loved us.” When we understand the depth of God’s love for us, we are motivated to love Him and others in return.

Romans 12:1-2 says,

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” This passage shows us that we are motivated by God’s mercy to live holy lives that are pleasing to Him. We are also motivated to renew our minds so that we can know and do His will.

Philippians 4:13 says,

“I can do all things through him who gives me strength.” This verse shows us that we are motivated by God’s strength to do all things. We can’t do anything on our own, but with God’s help, we can do anything.

The Bible teaches that we are motivated by many things, but ultimately, we are motivated by God’s love for us. His love is the ultimate motivation for us, and when we understand the depth of that love, we are motivated to love Him and others in return. We are also motivated by His mercy to live holy lives that are pleasing to Him, and by His strength to do all things.
