The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ was born to a virgin named Mary in Bethlehem. He was born during a time when the world was ruled by Rome and Herod was king of Judea. Jesus grew up in Nazareth and was a carpenter like his father. At the age of thirty, he began his public ministry. He traveled throughout Judea, teaching in the synagogues and healing the sick. He also preached about the coming of the Kingdom of God.
Jesus gained a large following of people who believed in his message. He also gained enemies, who eventually had him arrested and put on trial. Jesus was found guilty of blasphemy and was sentenced to death by crucifixion. He was crucified on a cross between two thieves. After he died, he was buried in a tomb.
On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to his disciples. He then ascended into heaven, where he sits at the right hand of God the Father.
